About me

I have worked as a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist in the NHS and private practice for over 8 years, working most recently within community mental health, employee wellbeing and weight management services.

I have a special interest in supporting people experiencing anxiety, including OCD, generalised anxiety, health anxiety, social anxiety, panic, phobias and PTSD.  I also work skilfully with low mood and depression, relationship challenges, eating difficulties (including weight loss issues), adjustment to loss and adjustment to life post-surgery. In addition, I have experience providing psychological support to frontline hospital staff within the NHS during and after the COVID pandemic, helping people cope with work-related stress, burnout, grief and trauma reactions.

I am really passionate about using EMDR therapy in my work, allowing me to help people process the difficult and painful experiences that can often underlie many of the challenges described above. I draw on other evidence-based therapeutic techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy and systematic and narrative approaches, tailoring my work to each person I meet.

Qualifications

Doctorate Degree (ClinPsyD) - Clinical Psychologist -  University College London.

Undergraduate Degree - BSc Psychology -

Qualified EMDR practitioner - Trained by Richman EMDR Training.

Regulatory bodies

Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.

Being regulated by these these organisations means that I commit to following professional and ethical codes of conduct. Practically, this involves me having regular clinical supervision, continually updating my skills, only offering interventions that have been shown to be effective and practising with appropriate insurance in place.
